Jacky Leung is one of the most active young classical and pop Hong Kong-born saxophonists. He has his bachelor study on Saxophone under Parsons Music Foundation Scholarships in Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA) under the baton of Michael Campbell (ex-bass clarinetist of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra). During his years of study in HKAPA, he had won the Concerto Competition for three years. In 2016, he completed his master degree as the first saxophonist under a full scholarship from The Hong Kong Jockey Club Music and Dance Fund (Local Studies).
Jacky had given various musical styles of performances in many institutes, events and radio broadcast including Eastman School of Music (2012), World Saxophone Congress in Scotland (2012), Music China in Shanghai (2013 – 2016) and Radio Television Hong Kong (2016). He was invited as a guest soloist and guest quartet group in different important saxophone events including the Asia Pacific Saxophone Academy in Thailand (2016) and the opening concert in the first Asia Saxophone Congress (2016) in Taiwan. In 2017, Jacky was invited as the guest lecturer of “Lao Shan Art Lecture” held in Qingdao Grand Theatre, which was later aired in the Qing Dao TV Dangjian Channel. In 2017 & 2018, Jacky was invited twice to host masterclass & recital in Mahidol University, Thailand and he also conducted workshop and recital in Shantou University & Kuala Lumpur Performing Art Centre, Malaysia in 2018. In the same year, Jacky won the 2nd Runner up of Open Session, Solo Wind Instrument, 19th Osaka International Music Competition. In January, 2019, Jacky was invited to conduct recital and masterclass in Beijing International Saxophone week & China Annual Saxophone Congress. In March, he was also being invited to perform and conduct masterclass in North American Saxophone Alliance Region 3 Conference in the University of Minnesota. In October, Jacky won the 2nd prize of Concerto competition & 3rd prize in the Solo Wind Instrument session in 20th Osaka International Music Competition. In January, 2020, Jacky was also being invited by Osaka International Music Competition to perform in their Gala concert
Apart from this, he also performed with a number of renowned artists including Kenneth Tse, Jean-Yves Fourmeau, Philippe Geiss, Vincent David, Stephen Page, Kenny Tsai, Timothy Roberts and Nathan Bogert etc
Along with his instrumental career, Jacky leads a number of orchestras and concert bands as conductor & band director participating in numerous performances and competition. In 2017, he played and conducted in the concert with West Symphonia band from Singapore, which received high recognition. In the same year, he has also served as one of the jury members of the Elbe Valley International Music Festival.
Jacky is also very committed in contributing to the community. He is currently the music director of Music Children Foundation (http://musicchildren.org.hk/en/home/) providing free music training including different music curriculum & chamber music experience to underprivileged children in Hong Kong.
Last but not least, Jacky is also active in composition and arrangement work. He always arranged music to be performed by his chamber group ONLY ONE and he also wrote and composed many different varieties of pieces for school, organization or commercial parties. In March 2019, He did a world premiere of two of his own compositions “Fate” with multi-media & “Locus II” with piano in the North American Saxophone Alliance Region 3 conference, which received high acclaim. In 2017 & 2018, he was also the producer of CDs, "Fly High Little Ones @ Sham Shui Po" & “Amazing” for Music Children Foundation charity musical.
Jacky is the Vice Chairman of the Hong Kong International Single Reed Association, Music Director of the Music Children Foundation and freelance saxophonist of the two most representative orchestras in Hong Kong namely the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra and the Hong Kong Sinfonietta. 梁國章是香港最活躍的年輕古典、流行音樂人之一。梁氏當年獲得栢斯音樂基金會獎學金於香港演藝學院修讀學士課程，主修薩克斯管。師承前香港管弦樂團低音單簧管手簡博文(Michael Campbell)。他在香港演藝學院學習的時期，曾三次在協奏曲比賽中勝出。 2016年，他更成為第一位獲得香港賽馬會音樂及舞蹈信託基金（本地進修）全額獎學金的薩克斯管碩士畢業生。
梁氏的演出均被認為充滿不同的色彩和風格。他曾於不同的院校如伊斯曼音樂學院(2012)，大型活動如蘇格蘭世界薩克斯管大會(2012)，上海中國音樂展(2013 – 2016)和香港電台中吹奏 (2016)。他也被邀請在泰國的亞太薩克斯管夏令營(2016)，以及在臺灣舉行的第一屆亞洲薩克斯風大會(2016)的開幕音樂會中作獨奏及四重奏演出。在2017年，梁氏被邀請在青島大劇院舉行的嶗山藝術講堂擔任演講嘉賓。其演講更在青島電視台的<青島文藝講堂>播出。2017和2018年，梁氏兩度被邀請在泰國國立瑪希隆大學舉行大師班和演奏會。2018年，他亦受邀請到汕頭大學及馬來西亞舉辦工作坊及演奏會。同年，他更在第19屆大阪國際音樂節木管公開組奪得季軍的殊榮。2019年1月及3月，梁氏分別受邀請在北京國際薩克斯管藝術周暨第四屆全國薩克斯管大會年會和美國明尼蘇達大學參加北美薩克斯管聯盟第3區會議作獨奏演出並舉行大師班。同年10月，梁氏更在第20屆大阪國際音樂節協奏曲比賽及木管公開組奪得亞軍及季軍的殊榮。2020年1月，梁氏亦受大阪國際音樂節邀請前往大阪參加其聯合音樂會演出。
另外，梁氏還與許多知名藝術家，包括謝徳驥 (Kenneth Tse), 桑·伊夫·傅茂(Jean-Yves Fourmeau), 菲臘蓋斯(Philippe Geiss), 文森大衛(Vincent David), 史蒂芬·斐(Stephen Page) , 蔡佳修( Kenny Tsai). 蒂莫西·羅伯茨(Timothy Roberts) ，南森·柏格特(Nathan Bogert)等一起演出。
梁氏很熱心參與社區服務。他現為香港音樂兒童基金會(Music Children Foundation )的音樂總監(http://musicchildren.org.hk)，為香港貧困兒童提供不同的音樂課程和室內樂的免費音樂訓練。
除此之外，梁氏也積極從事音樂創作及改編的工作，除了為他自己的合奏小組ONLY ONE改編演奏音樂之外，他為不同學校，團體及商業機構譜寫及改編的各類型樂曲均大受好評。2019年3月，他更在北美薩克斯管聯盟第3區會議中演奏了他自己創作的兩首世界首演樂曲。兩首樂曲分別是與鋼琴合奏的”Locus II” 和配合多媒體演奏的”命”。2017及2018年，他更監製了音樂兒童基金會慈善音樂劇的CD – “深水埗的童夢人生”及”阿美城“。
